The MM in Orchestral Conducting is a degree program designed for the student who wishes to pursue a D.M.A. degree in the same field, and/or in preparation to become an orchestral conductor in the public schools, or the conductor of a community orchestra or a professional organization. The UNM Orchestra offers an assistanship which includes assisting in conducting rehearsals or in concert as assigned, the UNM Orchestra library, and in all logistical aspects of the orchestra operation. The program is limited to two students providing an excellent number of conducting opportunities and individual attention.
