Nurture your musical ability and your potential as a performer and entrepreneur through advanced performance training combined with the finest related academic and music courses. You will learn both the theory and practice of becoming a skilled performer, as well as demonstrate and apply entrepreneurial skills essential to the real and varied world of the music profession, including concert programming, grant writing, and more.Through core courses in music research, music historyliterature, and music performance, you’ll learn to identify, analyze, and deftly perform repertoire from the 18th to the 21st centuries. You can further tailor your curriculum toward your specific interests and musical goals through three elective courses in areas such as music technology and performing arts administration.You’ll also work on your skills as a musician by choosing from a range of performance classes and specializing in traditional to contemporary music. You’ll work closely with our renowned faculty – who are top commercial and symphonic woodwind performers both here in New York City and around the world – through private instruction and by performing together both on and off campus.
