The Bachelor of Arts in Music is a versatile degree that offers maximum flexibility for combining. With fewer course requirements than the Bachelor of Music degree, this degree is perfect for students wishing to study music at the collegiate level while also pursuing another area of study. Alongside our historical strengths in the Western classical tradition, the Department of Music offers a broad and growing program of study in multiple popular music traditions. Our popular music offerings include a wide range of survey, topical, and performance-based courses in jazz, rock, country, hip-hop, and world music. Many of these courses are available to all students regardless of major, but can also be applied towards a dedicated emphasis in popular music as part of the Department's Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Music degrees.
