Acceptance into this selective program is determined after a student has been admitted into the undergraduate Departments of Music and has approval of the advisers.<br><br>Majors in this degree program are required to complete class instrument courses as listed below. A student who principally performs on a woodwind, brass, percussion, or string instrument normally will replace one class in the category of his or her principal instrument with guitar class (by advisement). Academic electives will include courses in the natural and behavioral sciences and the humanities.<br><br>To graduate, piano principals must complete, at a minimum, Piano Level VIII. Requirements for each level appear at the end of the "Undergraduate Programs" section of the Catalog Announcements.
