Whether you hope to spend your life performing as a soloist, playing as part of an orchestra, or joining academia, you’ll find the right woodwind program for you here. Our faculty of world-class performers will challenge you to constantly expand your horizons musically, professionally, and pedagogically. With backgrounds in orchestral performance, chamber music, solo recording, and pedagogy, you’ll be exposed to a vast array of knowledge and musical excellence every day. As a woodwind student at the Jacobs School of Music, you’ll have a part to play in some of the 1,100 performances we present each year. You’ll have opportunities to perform in solo, chamber music, and large ensemble settings. Some of your choices include six orchestras, two symphonic bands, a baroque and classical orchestra, a new music ensemble, and a full chamber music program.
