The master of music is designed as a two-year program that offers in-depth study for students highly gifted in music performance, music education, music theory, composition, or research. Students seeking this degree are required to complete 30-32 hours of course work, culminating in a creative project, recital, research paper, or thesis near the end of their degree work. This degree plan requires an audition or portfolio review for admission; all students are also required to complete a master’s oral exit exam in their final semester.
