The theatre creation option of our bachelor of arts/bachelor of science (BA/BS) in theatre is an undergraduate-only program for students who desire a broadbased education in theatre. The advantage of this unique option is that you have the freedom to discover and explore aspects of theatre you may not have previously experienced or learned about. If you intend to pursue a career in playwriting, dramaturgy, arts administration, theatre history/criticism, or casting, or if you want to pursue a master's or doctoral degree, this is the program for you. Ball State's theatre creation option course work focuses on the whole theatre artisttheory and practice are equally valued. The curriculum is comprehensive and can be research-based or project-based, and you will learn to become an effective, collaborative creator. The four-year program will be tailored to your particular interests allowing you to develop your own unique, artistic voice.
