The Department of Art and Design Education is distinguished by its interdisciplinary perspective and recognized internationally for its innovative approaches to connecting artistic practice and education. We offer an integrated curriculum that intertwines studio thinking with learning theories and current research in the field. Students develop a firm grounding in content area knowledge in the arts and design disciplines together with expertise in pedagogical strategies and teaching techniques. Conceptual innovation in education design-from lessons to curricula, projects, and programs-are combined with students' own interests and experiences in order to launch unique creative opportunities.<br><br>This 24-credit program is open to individuals who already hold an M.F.A. degree, or to those currently enrolled in an M.F.A. program at Pratt. This program is 24 credit hours and may be completed in three semesters.
