You'll explore the rich multicultural and ancient history of ceramic objects through interaction with faculty, peers and visiting artists to grasp the full range of contemporary practices and ideas. The M.F.A. program integrates creative research, contemporary theory, and studio practice culminating in a solo exhibition.<br><br>This broad and intensive terminal degree experience focuses on intellectual and creative growth, fostering students' practice and preparing them for a lifetime of accomplishment and meaningful contribution as culture creators. The program frames the individual needs of each student through the development of conceptual, aesthetic, and advanced technical skills.<br><br>The program is led by engaged artists and educators who are recognized nationally and internationally for their intellectual and creative research. Notable facilities and equipment include two Blaauw gas kilns, sodasalt kilns, wood kiln, raku kiln, computer-controlled electric kilns, full-spectrum decal printer, clay mixers, and state-of-the-art digital fabrication equipment including three and five axis CNC routers, CNC plasma cutters, laser cutters, and resin printers. The Ceramics faculty are passionate and work to ensure that students realize their potential.
