M.F.A. candidates in sculpture continue to develop and expand their knowledge and use of materials and technical skills in support of their personal aesthetic and formal goals. These goals are focused and pursued through individual contact with an advisor of the student's choice and the advice of any of the studio faculty as well as non-art faculty of the university. In addition, all graduate sculpture students, faculty, and technicians meet weekly for group critiques which challenge and encourage the individual to pursue a studied, personal expression of their ideas. This pursuit is further enhanced through frequent lectures and critiques by visiting artists, historians, and critics.
