Letters of Recommendation- Howard University requires two letters of recommendation for admission consideration. While you may assign recommenders via Common App/Naviance to submit additional letters, only two will be guaranteed to be considered as part of our review.
Application Essays - As part of the Common Application, students must submit the main Common Application essay as part of their application.
IELTS - a minimum overall band score of 6.5, with no individual band score below 6.0.

The Department of Art offers exemplar instruction in the practice, history, and criticism of the visual arts and design, developing skilled and knowledgeable graduates who are prepared to compete for professional positions and engage in entrepreneurial endeavors as artists, designers, fashion merchandisers, interior designers, and art historians.<br>The Electronic Studio Concentration offers a unique range of career outlooks for students interested in Digital Art Creation & Illustration <br>3D Animation & Modeling<br>2D Animation & Motion Graphics<br>Visual Storytelling & Narrative Driven Art<br>UX / UI Design & Interactive Media <br>Student will learning and have the opportunity to create works using the entirely of the Adobe Creative Cloud platform, Maya, Blender, Cinemia 4D, and more. The curriculum combines the fundamentals of visual arts: drawing, painting, illustration, and two-dimensional and three-dimensional design. Photography and video, with intensive applied computer technology and software techniques as applied to visual communications and design. Coursework is designed to incorporate prerequisite visual arts courses to prepare students to be competitive in the visual arts and computer-aided art and design fields.
