Loyola's Film and Digital Media program offers the opportunity to gain real-world experiences with award-winning filmmakers, producers, programmers and scholars. Students collaboratively create transformative media experiences for a variety of audiences and platforms. While taking classes in our convergence studio or DJing at our radio station, students are within easy reach of media companies for required internships, hands-on and study away experiences (in Rome, Cannes, Puerto Rico, Los Angeles), and ultimately job opportunities. Students explore the migration of communication and interactive, entertainment media across platforms and borders, from film screens to mobile devices in virtual and sustainable environments. <br>International Film Studies introduces students to the global markets for programming media, writing reviews and criticism, learning about media distribution, curation, film history and related professions<br>Film and Media Production provides students with the conceptual and practical skills for producing film, digital video, and virtual productions<br>In keeping with Loyola's Jesuit, Catholic values of social justice and ethical practices, the film and digital media program offers opportunities for community outreach and service-learning, emphasizing both the practice and theory of film and digital media production, while striving to create thoughtful practitioners and media critics.
