Our Spanish & Latin American Studies with a year abroad BA gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in all aspects of Spanish and Hispanic language, literature and cultural history at a world-class university in the heart of London. The department is especially strong in medieval and early modern studies, and modern literatures and cultures from Spain and Latin America. The year spent studying abroad offers you the chance to immerse yourself in a new culture and society and achieve language fluency.<br><br>The Department of Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies is active in all fields of Spanish language, as well as Peninsular and Latin American literatures and cultural histories from the earliest times to the present day. Our wide range of modules will allow you to develop a broad understanding of the Hispanic and Lusophone world and to pursue your interests in more detail. Beginning with our first-year required module, Global Iberias, you will have a broad introduction to the Hispanic world. In this first year you will explore an unrivalled range of topics covering literature, history, film, music and visual arts from the Hispanic and Lusophone worlds. In the second and final years you will explore a variety of topics through optional modules.
