The Integrated PhD in Educational and Applied Linguistics enables you to gain a critical understanding of Applied Linguistics and apply this to a context of your choice. We provide an 'academic apprenticeship model' where you'll be fully supported from being a strong Master's level student to becoming a successful doctoral student and ultimately to a university academic. This programme has a 1plus 3 structure. In year 1 (the ‘taught stage') you'll take a series of postgraduate modules to help prepare for the doctoral thesis (years 2, 3, 4, the ‘research stage') and also for a career in higher education. These year 1 modules are focussed on important career skills such as: academic writing for publication, teaching in higher education settings, research methodology.<br>Full time: 48 months
