Psychology is the scientific study of people: how they think, act, react and interact. It is concerned with all aspects of behaviour and the thoughts, feelings and motivations underlying such behaviour. You will study the way the brain controls behaviour and thought, the role of modern imaging techniques in studying the brain and the psychology of how groups interact. You will learn about the main areas of psychology: developmental, social, cognitive, brain and behaviour, experimental design and statistics, perception and visual cognition, individual differences and applied psychology. If you meet the requirements for progression to Honours (years 3 and 4) you will take courses in cognition, human development, perception and visual cognition, individual differences, professional skills (employability), social psychology, statistics and physiological psychology.
