课程简介
Whether you want to uncover the brain’s mysteries, improve the lives of others, or are just interested in what makes humans tick, this psychology degree is for you. It provides the breadth and depth of scientific understanding which forms the basis of the requirements for becoming a professional psychologist, researcher or a wide range of careers. Psychology has been taught at Bangor University since 1963, attracting students and faculty from around the globe. We offer a diverse, multilingual, and inclusive environment to study human behaviour, led by internationally renowned experts at the forefront of research to promote psychological well-being throughout life. The BSc (Hons) Psychology, accredited by the BPS, covers the investigation of human behaviour from infancy to old age, examining the many factors that affect the human psyche. From our biology and physiology to sociological influences like parenting, socialisation, education, through to therapeutic approaches and techniques, such as mindfulness and counselling. The broadest Psychology degree option we offer, you’ll learn how the body and brain work together to navigate our complex internal and external environment – how, why and what happens when these systems stop working so well, are damaged, or develop in divergent ways. For example, in the case of neurodegenerative diseases, traumatic brain injuries, substance abuse, or the spectrum of neurodevelopmental disorders. You’ll gain direct experience of key tools used to support and understand human behaviour, such as online surveys, psychometric testing, cognitive assessment, and have access to state-of-the-art specialist neuroimaging technologies which are used for diagnosis, treatment and intervention. We have equipment to monitor everything from brain activity and facial movement to skin response, field of vision and eye tracking. The University’s day care and child research centre also provides an exclusive resource to observe children’s language, learning, and development (with consent). Successful completion of this accredited Psychology degree confers eligibility for Graduate Membership of the BPS and the Graduate Basis for Registration, setting you on the path to becoming a Chartered Psychologist in any of the main psychological professions (clinical, educational, counselling, health, developmental, cognitive neuroscience, applied behaviour analysis).
