Taught by former police staff and internationally renowned academics, this highly respected Police Sciences degree - taught here for more than 15 years - will prepare you for the challenges of modern policing and related professions, such as the UK Border Agency, security organisations (MI5/MI6), the National Crime Agency, HM Revenue and Customs, the military police, and private organisations that provide a policing function. You will gain a detailed understanding of policing as you learn what it takes to be an e?cient police o?cer who is ready for the challenges of the 21st century. From cybercrime and digital forensics to community safety and protecting the vulnerable in society, your learning experiences will make use of the latest technology. We are one of the few universities in the world and the only university in Wales to have a Hydra Simulation Centre, which is used to train police of?cers at all levels - from Constable to Chief Constable. This means that our students use exactly the same system that the police use to train their staff to be better of?cers.
