You can complete this postgraduate research degree in one year (full-time) or two years (part-time). You'll undertake research under the guidance of a supervisor and be examined exclusively by thesis, there are no taught modules on this course. Your research will involve conducting your own analysis and conclusions based on your personal study of primary and secondary source materials and you'll produce a 30,000 word dissertation, which will be submitted at the end of the course.<br><br>The Cities and Space research group within the School of History brings together historians as well as academics from other disciplines with research interests in cities, urban culture and society. We encompass a range of areas including urban public health, demography, popular protest, civic culture and activism and processes of urbanisation. We're interested in the ways that a diverse range of social and cultural approaches to the study of history can be focused on the urban environment.
