Developed by community leaders for community leaders, our FdA Community Leadership programme, based at our Burnley Campus, gives individuals working at grassroots level the skills needed to make change happen. You will develop skills in leadership, project development and management. Underpinned by the teachings of Paulo Freire, you will also gain a theoretical understanding of how to enhance sustainability within community projects and the tools needed for community regeneration. Learning from the programme will be cascaded to peer groups through mentoring, empowering communities to take control of regeneration and positively improving community welfare. Students have graduated from this programme to go into local politics, education, youth work, business development, local government and public sector, law and management. Maximising your employability is a key part of what we offer. This includes working with you after you complete your course, including the provision of first-class business incubation facilities, which you can use if you want to start your own business. This is backed up with free training to help your business succeed.
