You will be exposed to new ways of thinking about the world. You will gain an in-depth understanding of contemporary issues and challenge your assumptions about how the world works. As you gain competency in another language you’ll deepen your understanding of other cultures and perspectives. You will develop skills for future careers that demand leadership, teamwork, public speaking, critical thinking, research and intercultural communication. You will become familiar with the connected and complex challenges that affect the world right now. Through exposure to law, politics and other subjects, you will be able to assess the goals and strategies adopted by entities on the global stage, including governments and NGOs. As a Global Studies graduate, you will be a competent global citizen. In addition to language skills and related regional knowledge, your research skills and strong practical knowledge will prepare you for leadership roles in a variety of sectors including foreign affairs, NGOs, international media, education and tourism.
