The School of International Development (DEV) is renowned for its research on climate change, behavioural and experimental economics, environmental justice, social protection and wellbeing throughout the lifecourse.The results of the Times Higher Education Research Excellence Framework (REF2014) rank us fourth in the country in International Development for overall research, with 74% of our research ranked world-leading or internationally excellent. We hold research funding from UK and international research councils, government departments, charities and NGOs, and multi and bilateral donors. Research in the School addresses contemporary challenges in developing economies via disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches.
