Specialising in development theory, policy and econometrics, this course will hone your analytic, technical and research skills as you prepare for your career in the industry. Emerging and developing economies are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with on the global arena. Formal and technical analysis of these economies is an essential part of continuing Third World development. The skills acquired through the MSc Development Economics course can be utilised in the private and public sectors, as well as international institutions. The programme also provides appropriate training for doctoral research. The aim of the Department of Economics is to provide students with the necessary skills to succeed when they leave Birmingham.
