The specialsation permits the study of core areas of international law, while also offering a variety of specialisations in both public and private international law. Study is informed by the Sydney Centre for International Law (SCIL), a leading centre of research, teaching and practice in international law in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. SCIL promotes public debate on international legal issues, advises governments and non-government organisations, and in recent years has worked in development programs in Nepal, Iraq and the Philippines. The Centre hosts a series of free public seminars on cutting edge issues of international law.
