The creative and arts industry plays a significant role in Auckland's identity, with music, theatre, dance and visual arts contributing to the city's reputation as the creative capital of Aotearoa New Zealand. To support and grow this industry requires talented arts managers with business skills and knowledge of the unique challenges of running these organisations. The Arts Management major has been developed to meet the needs of Auckland's creative and arts sector. This qualification can be studied part-time, or full-time over 3 years. You will learn the essential skills of effective arts management, event management, digital media communication, project management and other essential business skills as well as gaining a full understanding of arts practices in Aotearoa New Zealand. This culminates in a placement working for individual artist practitioners or in an arts organisation.
