The MLitt is an alternative to the PhD if you already have a masters degree and want to complete a substantial research project. You can complete an MLitt in most subjects offered by the Faculty of Arts, subject to approval and availability of supervision. You can further your research interests in the same subject as your first masters degree, or undertake research in a new area. An MLitt could be useful for a range of academic or professional careers, especially if you dont want to undertake doctoral study. During these one-year programmes you can expect an intensive individual and group learning experience. We start with basic production management, shot composition and editing, and then take you through interviewing documentary subjects to advanced blocking and camera movement. You will direct actors in front of the class, pitch documentary ideas and cut trailers. You will also learn how to use editing software such as EP Scheduling and Final Draft.
