With more than three billion users, the internet is an enormous, culturally rich information and communications environment. In this major, you will explore the human dimension of the internet, including how people network, collaborate and share information through internet communications, media and design. You will learn advanced skills in creating, maintaining and managing online communications and gain an understanding of their social and cultural contexts. You will learn the significance of social media, analyse political and social uses of the internet and develop skills in web media, publishing and presence, online public communication and virtual community management. Internet Communications is offered as part of the Bachelor of Arts. You may create a degree that suits your individual needs by enhancing your studies with a secondary major. This area can also be studied within the web media stream of the Bachelor of Arts (Mass Communication).
