While laying the theoretical foundations of the industry, the Diploma will also provide practical experience to ensure students are prepared for the realities of the live production workplace. Students participate in simulated workplace activities in the roles of Technical Operator, Production Assistant and Assistant Stage Manager. Building on that experience, students will then learn the skills necessary to take on a range of supervisory roles in a theatrical context, including Stage Manager and Technical Supervisor. Students will work alongside industry professionals such as Directors, Lighting Designers, Production Managers, Stage Managers and Technical Managers to collaborate, plan, supervise, implement and realise all elements of a theatrical production. They will also be exposed to the discipline of managing and organising film locations and shoots, allowing the student to demonstrate their skills within this media.
