Entry is confined to holders of an honours bachelor degree (2.2 grade or higher).
Prospective candidates should complete an application form for this course either on-line or by post from the Postgraduate Admissions Office at DIT. Qualified applicants may be invited for interview in late May-early June. Selection is based on the candidates understanding of and motivation for a career in public relations. Those completing their primary degree this year may be offered a place subject to attaining a 2:2 honours degree.
The following English language proficiency tests and scores are acceptable:
- ETAPP: C1 (or higher)
- TOEFL Paper Based Test (DIT Code 0281): 550
- TOEFL Computer Based Test (DIT Code 0281): 213
- TOEFL Internet Based Test: 92
- IELTS Score: 7.0
- GCE O Level English: Grade C
- GCSE English: Grade C
- Irish Leaving Certificate Ordinary Level: Grade D

- Pearson PTE Academic 62
- Cambridge English Language Examinations: 180+ on Cambridge English scale with no less than 175 in each skill and use of English i.e.
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): Grade C (CEFR Level C1 or C2)
- Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): Grade C (CEFR Level C1 or C2)
- Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE): Grade A (CEFR Level C1)

Public relations is strategic communications, working for an organisation or for the clients of a consultancy to engage with the audiences and stakeholders that matter to them. Whether it’s a product launch, media event, dealing with investors and financial markets, or coaching business leaders in social responsibility, strategic communications creates the dialogues that help build relationships and maintain reputation.<br><br>Our MAPR graduates understand not only what has to be communicated, but why – and the impact their communications have on the world around us. They operate at the intersection of business strategy, public policy and civic society using a range of tools and techniques to communicate purposefully and clearly.<br><br>The MAPR is the oldest public relations masters in Ireland, and the only PR course in the country recognised by the Public Relations Institute of Ireland, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (UK) and the Public Relations Society of America, giving our graduates additional recognition in industry.
