Business Management provides an overview of the main business functions that contribute to the success of a business or organisation. And looks at how they work together and relate to each other. Our Business Management BSc (Hons) degree aims to equip you with the skills, knowledge and experience needed to become a successful business leader. On this course you will gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the core elements of business and management. With a strong emphasis on practical application this course will encourage you to apply academic theory to a real-life business situations. This enables you to gain experience and develop the skills necessary to contribute to effective business practice. In Year 1 you will be introduced to a range of introductory theories and principles of business. You will also begin the business readiness programme in preparation for your Business Practice in Year 2. In Year 2 you will begin to cover all elements of the pathways themes, enabling you to develop your knowledge and understanding of core business principles in these areas. In addition you will complete stage 2 of the business readiness programme. You will carry out your Business Practice in Year 2 from May, for a minimum of three months. In your final year everyone studies strategic management and leadership. Then you can specialise into your chosen pathway: business management; human resource management; entrepreneurship; finance, or service operations.
