Take the first step towards working in the outdoor adventure and tourism industry. Gain skills in rock climbing, abseiling, whitewater and sea kayaking, and bush craft. Gain leadership experience and learn about kaitiakitanga and sustainability. Increase your self-confidence as part of a team and pursue personal growth. Whether you are keen beginner or already have some outdoor skills our low field tutor to student ratios means we are able to progress at your level (breaking it down if it's all new or technically up-skilling and challenging you further). To complement the practical pursuits we will spend some time in the classroom studying risk management, leadership, meteorology, kaitiakitanga, outdoor first aid, pursuit theory, trip planning, anatomy, physiology. You will also have the opportunity to put what you have learned into practise by developing leadership experience leading others in a variety of outdoor settings.
