To become a chartered accountant, you'll need to satisfy the requirements of professional accounting bodies. Our Accounting course is designed specifically with their requirements in mind, in order to maximise the number of exemptions from their exams. Currently the course has 42 individual exemptions across six of the world's largest professional bodies. The exemptions mean you'll be able to enter the job market having already undertaken a significant portion of your professional qualification. Northumbria University's Accounting course is covered by the prestigious AACSB accreditation for Newcastle Business School, which was ‘Business School of the Year' at the Times Higher Education Awards 2015. 3 years full-time or 4 years with a placement (sandwich)/study abroad.
