The School of Public Administration at Florida Atlantic University offers a graduate program leading to the Master of Nonprofit Management (MNM) degree. The mission of the Master of Nonprofit Management Program is to provide students, in a climate of inclusiveness, with the critical, analytical, managerial, and operational education necessary to inform theory and practice of effective service delivery in a nonprofit environment. The Master of Nonprofit Management (M.N.M.) degree program was designed as a professional degree to meet the unique needs of the nonprofit sector. It is open to pre-service students as well as managers and leaders in human services, fine and performing arts, and cultural, educational, community development, religious, environmental and other nonprofit organizations. The curriculum recognizes the special concerns of nonprofit organizations in such areas as: management of volunteers and professionals, resource development and fundraising, governance by volunteer boards of trustees and directors, management of multiple sources and types of funding, unique legal and regulatory issues, special values of service, community and charity, and the unique demands of nonprofit leadership. The MNM degree requires successful completion of 33 credit hours of 6000- level courses. Of these, there are 21 required credit hours (7 courses) and 12 elective credit hours (4 courses). Students who do not have nonprofit work experience must complete an internship as one of their elective courses.
