A degree in retail management will prepare you for a career in buying, merchandising, product management, management, and/or marketing in traditional retail settings and e-commerce environments. Job opportunities are excellent in consumer relations, advertising, marketing, market research, sales, publicity, and merchandising analysis. The Division of Consumer Science also co-hosts career fairs in fall and spring, drawing many key employers to campus.<br><br>Personalize your plan by applying to attend a program abroad or the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City during your junior year. These courses may be applied to degree requirements at Purdue and the FIT program leads to an Associate in Applied Science degree in Fashion Business Management upon satisfactory completion. Students also gain real-world experience through a required retail internship or field experience and have the opportunity for advanced industry networking by joining the National Retail Federation Student Association Purdue Chapter and the annual Fashion Scholarship Fund case study competitions.
