The Human Resources concentration is designed to meet the needs of students who desire to obtain entry-level positions in human resources, such as HR generalists, employment interviewers, and compensation analysts. Human resource professionals add value to their organizations by understanding how the business operates and through the design and implementation of human resource activities to meet changing organizational needs. If a student chooses to pursue this concentration, three courses totaling at least 16.0 hours must be taken. The Management major will provide you with an overview of business operations, including techniques to strategically align the human, technology and financial assets of a firm. It will prepare you for a career in a variety of service-delivery, manufacturing, consulting, non-profit and digital business environments. Choose from one of six concentrations - general management, entrepreneurship, human resources, leadership and change management, operations management, or sports management. The courses you take will be tailored to the concentration you choose. You'll also benefit from programs and networking events at DePaul's Coleman Entrepreneurship Center and Center for Innovation, as well as DePaul's presence in Chicago's 1871 business incubator.
