The human resource development (HRD) major aligns with the academic standards of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).<br><br>Graduates are eligible for the SHRM Certified Professional exam without completing the required two years of human resources employment. The HRD major includes courses in compensation, inclusion and diversity, labor relations, global issues, employee retention and engagement, total rewards, information systems, analytics, risk management and strategic planning.<br><br>The Purdue Polytechnic Institute is one of 10 academic colleges at Purdue University.
