The Ph.D. Program in Business with a concentration in Accounting at FAU prepares candidates for research and teaching careers at universities and for careers within firms or government agencies requiring advanced research and analytical capabilities. Most of our graduates use their degrees to pursue faculty positions at universities.<br><br>The program takes a minimum of four years to complete on a full time basis. The program consists of coursework, independent research, and a dissertation (see program requirements for further details). Typically, you can expect two to two and one-half years to complete coursework and related requirements, and one to two years to complete the dissertation. The accounting program at FAU is intended to prepare students to conduct high-quality research and become effective teachers. Students will take at least four seminars in accounting plus select a supporting area of concentration (for example, finance, economics, psychology, etc.).
