Information Systems and Technologies are transformative for business organizations in the 21st Century. The Information Technology Management (ITM) Department spearheads curriculum development and teaching at the Shidler College of Business in these areas through undergraduate and graduate programs, preparing students to thrive in the digital economy. Through basic and applied research, the department creates and disseminates knowledge of the design, development, and management of information technology.<br><br>The department offers an undergraduate major in Management of Information Systems, an elective in Information Systems at the MBA level, a concentration in the PhD in Business Administration program, and an interdisciplinary PhD in Communication and Information Systems. In addition, the department offers seminars and non-credit executive programs for the business community.<br><br>Starting Fall 2020, we will offer a 30-credit 12-month Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) with focus on business intelligence, data analytics and information security. For BBA majoring in ITM (MIS), the program allows a 41 year pathway for qualified students. <br><br>The department is consistently ranked among the top departments of information systems nationally for its research. Faculty members in the department specialize in the areas of decisions sciences, organizational impacts of technology, systems development, database management, health information technology management, neural informations systems, e-commerce and social media, and crisis management systems.
