The doctoral program in Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) is offered through the Information Systems and Operations Management area of Goizueta Business School. Students pursue a track in either Information Systems (IS) or Operations Management (OM). Information is a core concept in business, and information systems embody the essential processes that transmit, translate, and transform information within and between businesses. The IS track focuses on these phenomena from the standpoint of management practice, enterprise opportunity, and market possibilities. Operations Management is a central business function that is concerned with the effective management of developing new products and services, as well as the logistics operations of production and distribution. Research in this area covers a wide array of topics and builds upon a variety of disciplines including Economics, Statistics, Psychology, and Operations Research. The OM doctoral program is designed to allow the student to work closely with faculty on a range of practice-driven research questions. Faculty pursue data-driven research in the areas of healthcare operations, supply chain management, operations strategy, retail operations, revenue management, and new product development and innovation.<br>Students should be able to complete the program in four years on a full-time basis. It is possible that some students may need an additional year for completion.
