LMU's Computer Information Systems and Operations Management major helps students understand how computer technology meets the information needs of organizations at the operational, tactical, and strategic levels. The study of information systems goes beyond the technology of computer software to understanding problem-solving and decision-making processes. These can involve finding innovative ways to move information and data from source to user, from market to analyst, or from abroad to headquarters and back. Computer Information Systems students examine the role of technology in the competitive workplace, core technologies that affect the operation and management of a business, emerging trends and strategies in information technology, key hardware and software technology, computer security and safeguard issues, and computer and networking ethics.
