The Master of Science (MS) in Mathematics degree with concentration in Applied Mathematics is designed for students who have a strong background in undergraduate mathematics and have completed a bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, or physical or biological sciences. Students in this program are encouraged to complete up to two courses (8 credit hours) in other departments such as electromagnetic theory, continuum mechanics, fluid dynamics, statistical physics, electrical signal processing, biology, or plasma physics. This program lays the foundation for doctoral work.
