The Department of Mathematics offers graduate-level courses in statistics leading to a Master of Science degree in mathematics focusing on statistics. The graduate program offers students the opportunity for further training in Applied Statistics—training that positions them to pursue additional graduate studies or jobs in many fields. S. in Mathematics with sequences in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Applied Statistics, Biomathematics; and Elementary and Middle School Mathematics Education. At the master's level, concentrations are available in secondary mathematics education, pure mathematics, computational mathematics, and applied mathematics. Concentrations are not listed on a student's transcript. A master's degree requires either 39 credit hours without a thesis, or 32 credit hours with a thesis.
