The Department's primary graduate degree is the Doctorate of Philosophy in Statistics, and we admit students and fund them with the expectation that they will complete the Ph.D. After two years in that program, students may choose to earn a Master of Science (M.S.) in Statistics. To earn this degree, students must complete 36 semester hours including an M.S. statistics core of 12 hours, three hours of the consulting-teaching practicum, 21 semester hours of elective courses, and pass an oral examination. There is no foreign language requirement.
