Applicants must submit a sealed, official transcript from every undergraduate and graduate institution that has granted the applicant a degree. For undergraduate coursework, applicants are required to submit proof of a completed bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Unofficial copies of transcripts are accepted for review purposes, but official copies will be required upon admission. Applicants must submit a copy of their resume. All applicants must submit scores from the general section of the GRE unless otherwise stated. Please submit a 2-3 page statement of purpose that details your academic and/or professional achievements, your specific areas of interest within your desired field of study, why you are a strong candidate for graduate studies at CGU, and your career goals. Two letters of recommendation
A minimum TOEFL score of 95 iBT, or a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 with no sub-score lower than 6.5, is required for direct-entry admission. Admitted students who score below 95 iBT on the TOEFL, or below 7.0 on the IELTS, will be required to successfully complete ISP (earning a grade of B or higher in each required ISP course) prior to beginning their degree programs.

The highly customizable master's degree in mathematics provides the essential training and skills in pure or applied math to compete for positions in education, industry, and government laboratories.<br>The master's program in mathematics allows you to customize your coursework as you develop mastery in one or more areas of pure or applied math. Throughout the program, you will work closely with faculty with extensive backgrounds in applied math, computational science, statistics, financial engineering, industrial modeling, and related fields. You will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in solving significant problems for industry and government clients through our internationally recognized Engineering & Computational Mathematics Clinic.<br>You may elect to receive either a Master of Arts (MA) or a Master of Science (MS) degree, each with identical requirements. Admission into the program requires a BA or BS in mathematics. Ideal preparation includes undergraduate coursework in multivariate/vector calculus, real analysis, differential equations, linear algebra, complex variables, numerical methods, and probability theory. Because the Institute of Mathematical Sciences is part of the Claremont Center for the Mathematical Sciences, youll have access to one of the largest mathematical science communities in California.
