The Associate in Arts in Kinesiology for Transfer at Los Medanos College prepares students to transfer into a curriculum at a 4 year institution to pursue a baccalaureate degree in Kinesiology or Physical Education. This major will introduce students to many areas of study including health and fitness, physical education, therapeuticsport medicine, and coachingsport instruction. Curriculum in this degree will also provide coursework necessary to prepare students for national certifications in the healthfitness industry such as personal training, group fitness instructor, and lifestyleweight management consultant. Program learning outcomes - 1. Demonstrate an understanding of the historical, ethical, and philosophical foundations of Kinesiology. 2. Demonstrate knowledge of the relationship between physical activity and the conceptual foundations of kinesiology 3. Identify career andor educational options in kinesiologyphysical education, and formulate an action plan to successfully pursue and attain those options. 4. Utilize critical thinking skills to identify research methods and apply them in an evaluative process to draw conclusions.
