The undergraduate program in Exercise, Sport and Movement Sciences (ESMS): Provides a comprehensive exposure to the field of exercise science, with coursework in areas such as kinesiology, physiology, biomechanics, motor behavior, and exercise programming. Introduces students to the theoretical concepts and practical skills associated with preventive health, exercise and disease management, physical fitness, exercise program design, and sports conditioning. Provides an overview of mechanical aspects of human movement as well as physiological systems including anatomical, musculoskeletal, neural, cardiovascular, metabolic, and respiratory; inclusive of both lecture and laboratory experiences. Includes a one semester (240 hour) internship (final semester of senior year), in which students can select their area of focus in order to gain 'real world' work experience in their chosen field. An option to complete the internship within one of the many Human Performance Laboratories is available with permissionacceptance of the lab director.
