The Athletic Training Program is designed to prepare students for an entry-level allied healthcare career in the athletic training profession in a variety of job settings, including high school athletics, college/university athletics, professional sport teams, industrial, or medical clinics. The University of West Florida Athletic Training Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) and currently offers a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Recently, CAATE announced that accreditation will only be awarded to Masters prepared programs and only endorses Masters prepared students to be able to take the certification exam to become a Certified Athletic Trainer.
