This program will prepare you to coach athletes of varying ages and ability levels, including youth, masters, scholastic, intercollegiate and athletes with disabilities and special needs. Athletic Coaching Education will prepare you for a variety of roles in the coaching profession. Settings may include coaching athletes of varying age and ability levels, including youth, masters, scholastic, intercollegiate and individuals with disabilities and special needs. Additional roles may include strength and conditioning, director of operations, etc. The bachelor's degree consists of a sequenced curriculum that focuses on professional knowledge, sport-specific science and pedagogical skills mixed with interpersonal and intra-personal skill sets. Practicum experiences provide opportunities to learn and apply the principles and practices of coaching across a wide range of participation and performance-based settings. Professional networking and social skills are emphasized.
