Accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, the ClinicalActivist MSW program at Texas A&M University-Kingsville prepares graduates for advanced social work practice with the diverse populations and social service settings in the rural U.S.Mexico border and outlining regions. The MSW degree program will prepare students to function in a variety of Social Work andor Social Service settings. Upon graduation, students are eligible to sit for the master’s level social work examination in Texas; however, requirements may vary in other states.<br><br>Applicants to both MSW tracks (see below) must apply to the university and meet all requirements for admission. Applicants must also meet specific MSW program admissions requirements. See the "Admission to MSW" link to the left for additional information. All applicants are initially accepted conditionally, as they must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester to maintain admission without stipulation.<br><br>Advanced Standing Track<br>For applicants who have a BSW from a CSWE accredited university.<br>Must have taken human biology (3 cr), introduction to psychology (3 cr), introduction to sociology (3 cr), and statistics (3 cr).<br>Must have minimum GPA of 3.0 within past 5 years<br>Must obtain BSW by the end of the Spring semester prior to starting the MSW program.<br>Take one year of courses focused on clinicalactivist social work content.
