The JD/MPA is designed for students who intend to earn both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Public Administration concurrently. The degree is offered through the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center and the E. J. Ourso College of Business.<br><br>Students may take the first year in the MPA program, completing 24 semester hours and then take three additional MPA hours in summer school. Students then spend their second year completing coursework in the LSU law center.<br><br>Having completed a year of both MPA and law courses, students can then take courses in both the law center and MPA program. Law school courses will count toward the MPA program's degree requirements.<br><br>Alternatively, a student can also start the program by first attending law school and then taking the MPA courses. Students will work with faculty to plan a schedule permitting them to graduate the joint program in four years.
