Interested in a rewarding career as a high school or middle school journalism teacher or adviser Ranked among the best programs in the country, Ball State's bachelor's degree in journalism education provides a strong foundation in journalism knowledge combined with practical teaching skills. Because a huge part of learning how to teach is actually doing it, youll spend several weeks working alongside a secondary teacher, followed by 16 weeks of student teaching. At graduation, youll feel confident in yourself, both as an educator and journalism expert. You'll also take several education courses within Ball State's nationally renowned Teachers College, where youll learn about classroom management, diversity education, education reform, education psychology, and more.
